Tim Taylor | NEEDTOBREATHE

Musical Act: NEEDTOBREATHE
Venue: Red Rocks Amphitheatre
City: Morrison, CO

I’ve had the good fortune to get to know Seth Bolt, the bass player for the South Carolina rock ‘n roll band, NEEDTOBREATHE. I don’t really know any other rock stars but Seth has got to be one of the most caring, gracious, and generous among them. Besides being a good golfing buddy, he has been a mentor to my teenage son who is an aspiring rock star.

Last night we had a chance to see the band play at Red Rocks in front of a sold out crowd on a perfect summer evening. They played a fantastic set of new and old songs and full or partial covers of Gimme Shelter, House of the Rising Sun, and Stand By Me.

The highlight of the night was hearing Seth sing a full verse of Stand By Me. Lead singer, Bear Rinehart, has a classic gravelly voice in the vein of Joe Cocker so Seth usually sticks to back-up, but the audience loved it when he took over on vocals. Someone already posted a video to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15M09Rpfvcs

It’s tough to beat a night of great music with friends at Red Rocks. The band is on tour through November. If you have the chance, don’t miss them.
