In the News: A New Way to Measure Durable Skills

“The time really is now to do this work. We wish we’d started earlier.”

That’s Tim Taylor, our Co-Founder and President, talking in a recent conversation with Paul Fain about a new effort to create an assessment for “durable skills,” things like critical thinking, problem solving, and communication.

In this Q&A, he talks about the importance of employer buy-in, designing for equity—and how the tool can help make skills-based hiring a reality. Read it here.

ASU+GSV Summit 2023

We were honored to have our President, Tim Taylor, and Vice President of Partnerships Stephanie Short, share the stage on two panels at ASU+GSV this year to discuss the merits of durable skills from cradle to career. We were also fortunate to host so many leaders in this field at our roundtable discussion in the Edmentum Suite. A big thank you to Edmentum for allowing us to use your space!

Call for submissions: Grateful Ed

Do you hear that? Concert season is almost upon us and we are ready to hear from you!

Our Grateful Ed blog lies at the intersection of our shared passion in this community for education reform and live music. If you want our education system to improve, and you’re going to a show this summer – send us your pictures! We would love to hear a sentence (or 11) about the show, too, if you’re willing to share, but we won’t be picky. At the very least, please let us know:

1. The artist

2. The venue

3. Your name/organization + any other details about the show!

You can send your submissions to info@americasucceeds.org.
