Intuit and America Succeeds
America Succeeds recently partnered with Intuit on a case study to articulate the effectiveness of their design-thinking summer camp, Design for Delight, in cultivating Durable Skills.
We brought in our friends at Getting Smart to do a thorough review of the Design for Delight programming and curriculum to develop a deep understanding of the course, its goals, and the expected skill attainment of course participants before we headed to San Diego to experience the camp in-person.

Chamber Study Examines Value of Durable Skills in Indiana
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has released a state report on Durable Skills that they commissioned from America Succeeds.
“The study examines the importance of durable skills for job seekers, and what Hoosier employers are looking for. The new report reveals three out of four hiring personnel are seeking candidates with at least one durable skill (or what is sometimes referred to as a soft skill), like leadership and collaboration.”
Durable Skills Rubric Development Kicks Off in New Orleans
Earlier this week our team and CompTIA took the first step in our Durable Skills rubric development at a convening in New Orleans. Over 20 business leaders are gathered there with CompTIA’s exam services team to lend their expertise as we forge ahead with this work.
After this, we’ll be taking our draft rubric on the road! Stay tuned to see the list of cities we’re coming to and how you and your colleagues can engage with this process. If you have questions before then, please reach out to Lauren Cole.
