America Succeeds is excited to announce a new addition to our team! Cynthia Vu will be joining us for the summer as a Communications Intern, learning about and assisting with communications, marketing and branding, and programming activities.
Cynthia hails from sunny California but attends Princeton University in New Jersey, where she is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Minor in Creative Writing. She comes to us as part of the Princeton Internships in Civic Services program, which encourages students to spend a summer engaging in public service by participating in the non-profit sector.
Cynthia has spent a lot of time as an educator for small communities. She worked as a teacher’s assistant for Vietnamese Language classes for four years, developing lesson plans for kindergarteners that teach content through games. While studying abroad in London, she participated in a co-learning course where she helped to create and facilitate workshops about food, science, and society at a sixth-form college. At Princeton, she works at the on-campus Makerspace, the StudioLab, where she also helps to develop and facilitate workshops combining art and science for curious students of all ages. These experiences have influenced her interest in education policy and advocacy, and she is excited to work with America Succeeds in their mission to improve public education systems.
In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys practicing archery, visiting interactive museums, exploring different forms of art-making, and designing and creating things that light up. This summer, she hopes to complete at least one sewing project and spend a lot of time exploring Colorado’s beautiful naturescape.
